Dell M6500 Broadcom Ush Driver

(C) Suspending and Hibernation works only on 64 bit version. (2) Using ATI proprietary drivers. See HCL/Radeon Xpress 1150. (6) With bcm43xx driver and broadcom firmware from Packman repository. (6) Works with lower performance with Ndiswrapper. (10) S2ram works with the options s2ram -f -a 3. (11) s2disk works but you need to disable the option of locking the screen when returning on the options of kpowersave.

(4) Had to uninstall pulseaudio. (6) Broadcom 4312: Works with broadcom-wl (tested with V5.10.92) from Packman. May need to adjust select-timeout to 10 (or more) in /etc/dhclient.conf. Ndiswrapper / Windows driver very unreliable.

(C) Some 64bit users may require steps on SDB:NVidia suspend on 11.x. Works fine since 12.1. (2) Using Nvidia proprietary driver. (6) Intel Pro Wireless 5300. (6) Dell Wireless 1510: (8) KBluetooth4 v0.3: Devices are recognized, OBEX-Receive works, but OBEX-Push fails. (*) Built-in webcam: (*) Switching displays with Fn-F8 works. (*) Ambient light sensor works, and also controls keyboard backlight. (Keyboard backlight brightness can only be set using Dell Control Point under Windows, but the setting is remembered.) (*) DualPoint Touchstick/Touchpad works (including horizontal scrolling) works fine for 12.2, but for 11.x requires adjustment of /etc/X11/xorg.conf -> AccelFactor. Touchpad scrolling ceases to work after switching resolution with NVidia tool. (*) Built-in microphone and docking station audio works fine since 12.1, but for 11.x requires ALSA Driver 1.0.20-git20090805 or later. (Earlier versions might work after adding "options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m4-3" to /etc/modprobe.d/sound).

(A) Graphics ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 (M92) @ 1920 x 1080 with the fglrx driver on 11.2 and 11.3/64-bit. 3D acceleration also works with the open source driver. The latest fglrx driver doesn't support openSUSE 12.3(6) The Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card (BCM4312 802.11b/g) works with broadcom-wl (Packman) or b43 (requires a 2.6.32+ kernel).(*) Webcam:

(1,2) Intel video needs a 2.6.32 or newer kernel(1,2) ATI Catalyst driver work fine with HD 4570, just install the requiered dependencies and update your kernel.(4) The speakers work fine, for headphones jack add: "options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m6" below the second line in /etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf(4) None audio input recognized(6) Intel Wireless card requires firmware for 6000 series device d/led to /lib/firmware.(6) Dell Wireless works fine with broadcom-sta driver one-click-installer(9) Brightness buttons aren't recognized by kernel, may change by 2.6.34.(*) Webcam works out the box with v4l (*) Eject button don't work, a solution is add your user to audio group, and execute "eject" command

(2) 3D acceleration works with the ATI proprietary driver. Dual-head video output works well.(4) Updating ALSA and adjusting volume levels with KMix solved the problem.(4) Add options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m6 as the second line of /etc/modprobe.d/50-sound.conf for optimal operation.(10) Suspend to RAM works but after resume the CPU fan doesn't start anymore causing CPU overheating (the problem is common to other distros).
